What We Do

foundd.ai is building the infrastructure for continuous, outside-in due diligence in venture capital. We believe investment decisions should rest on unbiased, up-to-date evidence of how a company actually builds and operates — not just its pitch deck and projections.

We turn publicly observable signals into a standardised, comparable health score across two core areas — technology and organisation — always read against companies of similar complexity and maturity, and refreshed continuously rather than captured once.

Why We're Building This

We started foundd.ai after years of experience on both sides of the venture table. We've seen brilliant ideas fail because of organizational debt, and we've watched investors struggle to get real visibility into their portfolio companies beyond quarterly board meetings.

Traditional due diligence is a one-time snapshot. But companies are dynamic, and their internal performance changes constantly. Investors need continuous visibility, and startups need a way to demonstrate their operational strength objectively.

The venture ecosystem has become more efficient in many ways — faster deal flow, standardized terms, better founder education. But one critical gap remains: there's no common language for operational excellence.

Currently VP Platform & Portfolio Operations at Cormeo, Bertelsmann Investments' pharma-tech holding – responsible for technology strategy and operational excellence across a portfolio of four pharma-tech companies.

foundd.ai emerged from a recurring gap he faced on both sides of the table: critical operational signals existed but there was no consistent way to make them visible and comparable before capital decisions are made.

Jens is Co-Founder and CTO at foundd.ai. He is a cloud architect and full-stack engineer with deep expertise in cloud-native engineering on AWS, including serverless architectures, and previously led cloud-native software engineering teams in the DACH region at Accenture. He now works independently through CaprinusLabs. He brings a builder's mindset (documented through his engineering writing and open-source work) and is designing the technical foundation that turns operational signals into reliable, scalable, and continuously measurable due-diligence insights.

How we're building this

foundd.ai is a self-funded project, built by two engineers and operators who've sat on both sides of the venture table — not a startup chasing a seed round. We're not raising.

We're running real scoring cycles with a small number of design partner funds and pilot companies, sharpening the technology and organisation signals against live portfolios before taking this further.
